About Me
Hi, I'm Maya - welcome to my pottery page. I live and make things in Driggs, Idaho, where the winters are long and the powder is deep. I started working with clay when my best friend Nisha gifted me pottery classes for my birthday - a thoughtful gesture that spiraled into a deeper passion and creative practice. I feel the most joy when I'm out exploring in the mountains, but when I'm not out on an alpine ridgeline or poking around for fresh snow on Glory, you can often find me at the pottery studio. I find a deep meditation and satisfaction from coaxing form from a hunk of clay. My aesthetic is constantly shifting and evolving, but at my core I'm highly influenced by the simple forms, and warm, minimalist palettes of ceramics created in Kyoto or Taiwan.
